Welcome to China
July 16, 2009
This photo, snapped from an aircraft just after it had landed, was sent to me by ThinkingShift reader, Ooh La La, who arrived in China on holidays last week.
Imagine being met with this sight! Ooh La La told me:
“Swine flu control in Beijing is so serious. You can’t go out of the plane before the officers come to check your temperature. For my flight it took 45 mins for the temperature checking. Boring.
And for the flight back to Bangkok, it was an hour delayed. We had to take the same plane as the inbound plane. But that plane has a man who had a flu. See the attached photo.
In case you do not stay at the hotel, you have to go to the police station for non-resident registration. When we go there, the police said we had to stay inside the house for one week before registration. We have to explain them that we don’t have much time in China, only a few days” .
Perhaps we should get used to the sight of personnel swathed in swine flu protection gear if this article is right.
